WOCOA Offering Funds for Seniors for Purchase of Fruits and Vegetables

Are you a Senior, 60 or older, and would like some fresh fruits and vegetables from a local Farmer?

If so, the Walton Okaloosa Council on Aging (WOCOA) has a program that operates from May to September  that can help.

This program is open to any Senior whose household total gross income is at or under 185% of the federal poverty level.  For individuals, that amount is $1872.00 and for couples is $2538.00.

If you qualify, the WOCOA will be issuing $40 worth of checks that can be used as local farmer’s markets between now and the end of September.

All you need to do to qualify is bring your ID card to one of the following locations on the dates provided:

  • May 11th at the Downtown Farmer’s Market from 8:00am – 1:00pm – Baldwin Avenue, DeFuniak Springs
  • May 23rd at the Coastal Branch Health Dept from 8:00am – 10:00am – 316 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach
