Escambia Farms Residential Fire Claims The Life of One Person and Several Pets

Escambia Farms — An early morning residential structure fire in Escambia Farms claims one life.

At approximately 2:03 a.m. on Friday, June 19, the Blackman Fire District responded to a reported structure fire at a residence located just off Highway C180 in the Escambia Farms area of northern Okaloosa County.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-story single-family residence engulfed in flames. Due to the severity of the fire, Baker, Almarante, Crestview and Berrydale Fire Departments responded for mutual aid. Additional support was also provided by Okaloosa EMS, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, and Chelco Electric.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders, one fatality was confirmed as a result of the fire as well as several household pets.

The fire was extinguished, and operations were concluded at 8:57 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and no additional information is being released at this time pending the completion of the investigation.
