Crestview Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting Juvenile 25 Years Ago

A Crestview man has been arrested on charges he sexually molested a young girl over a period ranging from 1993 to 1996.

The 35 year old victim, informed investigators 61 year old Bobby Jelks Wilson Jr. started sexually assaulting her on a daily basis starting in 1993 and it continued for approximately 3 years.

The victim who was just 10 years old at the time the abuse first started informed investigators Wilson, who was 35 years old at the time, would tell her if she told anyone he would punish her.

Over the three years of the abuse, the victim told investigators it got progressively more frequent and severe in nature. The abuse finally stopped when Wilson became involved with an adult female.

Wilson was charged with Sexual Battery by a custodian on a victim under the age of 12.

The victim had disclosed the sexual abuse to a witness and counselor over the years and both provided written statements.

According to the Okaloosa County Jail’s website, Wilson’s bail has been denied. Wilson has a court date of September 18, 2018.
