Destin, FL – The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation after the body of a homeless man in Destin was found in a wooded area off Highway 98 today.
Deputies were called to a medical emergency around 12:35 Tuesday afternoon after receiving a call that a man believed to be in his forties had been found deceased.
There were no obvious signs of foul play.
An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the cause of death.
Identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
