Friday Night Shooting in Crestview Public Housing Leaves Two In Critical Condition

Crestview, FL – Investigation continues into a shooting that took place late Friday night on W. Hickory Ave in Crestview Public Housing that left two men in critical condition.

The Crestview Police Department were first called to the Waffle House at 298 W James Lee Blvd at approximately 10:30 pm Friday night in reference to two gunshot victims bleeding inside the restaurant.

Officers discovered a white Toyota Camry in the parking lot with bullet boles. Inside the restaurant, officers found 35-year-old Ron Borner and 25-year-old Kreskin Robinson, both of Ft Walton Beach, injured with apparent gunshot wounds. The report stated that both patrons and employees of the eatery administered first aid until Okaloosa County EMS arrived.

An investigation into the shooting led officers to W. Hickory Ave which is located off N. Lloyd St on the south side W James Lee Blvd in Crestview Public Housing. There, officers and investigators found multiple spent shell casings in the roadway and surrounding area.

The Waffle House was closed for approximately 12 hours due to the Toyota Camry being treated as a crime scene. Investigators with the Crestview Police Department did obtain a search warrant for the Toyota Camry and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement responded to assist in the investigation.
