Milton Middle School Student Arrested For Bring Fake Bomb To School

Milton, FL – On February 27, 2018, School Resource Officer’s with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office received information that a student was at King Middle School in Milton claiming to have a bomb.
Upon investigating the incident, it was revealed 13 year old Caleb Grant had brought a cellphone battery pack and was walking up to students in the library and telling them all he had to do was add bb’s and water and it would explode. Grant told another student the battery pack was a bomb and he was going to pull the cord and make it explode.
Staff at the school stated several students became fearful and thought Grant had a bomb.
When asked, Grant stated he was just messing around with the younger students. Grant further stated he did not mean to cause a problem and was only joking around.
A warrant was applied for charging Grant with Threatening to Bomb or Discharge a Destructing Device and Disturbing the Peace at a School. Grant was arrested on March 2nd and taken to the Santa Rosa County Jail for processing.
