Navarre Student Arrested For Sending Social Media Message Wanting to Blow Up School and Shoot Up His House

Navarre, FL – A Navarre student has been arrested for sending a message on social media stating he wanted to blow up the school and shoot up his house.

On February 28, 2018 A text was sent from an Instagram account to a group of students stating, “any of yall know tamers number i need some bombs to blow up the damn school and shoot up my house”.

On March 1st, Navarre High School Administration was notified by a parent of one of the students that received the social media message at which point they notified the School Resource Officers with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office who investigated the allegation.

During the course of the investigation, deputies traced the message back to an account belonging to 15-year-old Joshua Dominick Allen, a student at Navarre High School.

The charge of Threatening to Discharge a Destructive Device is a second degree felony. The School Resource Officer applied for a warrant through the Santa Rosa County Court system and Allen was arrested on March 2nd and taken to the Santa Rosa County Jail for processing.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Santa Rosa County School Board have taken a Zero Tolerance Policy on any threats made to our educational institutions. All threats will be investigated and those found with sufficient probable cause will be charged accordingly.
