Walton Woman Killed in One Car Destin Crash

Destin, FL – The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a one-vehicle fatal traffic crash on Highway 98 in Destin Tuesday night.

Deputies say the SUV was eastbound on Harbor Boulevard at a high rate of speed around 11 p.m. when it hit a light pole, partially ejecting the driver, 24-year old Brittany Torres of Santa Rosa Beach.

Torres was taken to the Destin Emergency Room where she was pronounced dead. Torres’ passenger was not injured.

Power was knocked out in the general area but was restored by around 5a.m. this morning.
