Milton High School Student Arrested For Falsely Reporting School Shooter

Milton, FL – A Milton High School Student has been arrested and charged with Disturbing The Peace at a school function for falsely yelling school shooter.
On February 21, 2018 at 11:48 am a Santa Rosa County School Resource Officer assigned to Milton High School was notified of an incident involving one of the students.
A student knocked on a classroom door and loudly yelled “School Shooter” three times. The teacher then opened the door to find the student standing in the hallway, laughing.
The student was immediately taken to the School Resource Officer and the Dean.
When asked, the 16 year old student replied that it was a joke and he thought it would be funny and get a laugh out of his classmates.
According to the news release, 11 students and 2 teachers witnessed the incident which disrupted two separate classrooms.
The juvenile student was immediately taken into custody, arrested for the misdemeanor and transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail where he/she was was booked and processed.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Santa Rosa County School Board has a Zero Tolerance Policy related to these types of incidents.
