Okaloosa and Walton County Traffic Alert

Chipley– Drivers will encounter traffic variations on the following state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.

 Okaloosa County

• State Road (S.R.) 189 (Beal Parkway) Intersection Improvement at S.R. 393 (Mary Esther Boulevard)– There will be intermittent northbound lane restrictions on Beal Parkway between Ewing Court and Water Street from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb 18 through Thursday, Feb. 22 as crews perform roadway, sidewalk, and drainage work.

• Interstate 10 (I-10) From East of County Road 189 (Holt/ Mile Marker 45) to West of the Yellow River- There will be eastbound and westbound intermittent lane restrictions from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18 through Friday, Feb. 23 as crews perform asphalt corrections.
• U.S. 90 Over Yellow River Routine Bridge Inspection- Motorists will encounter eastbound lane restrictions on U.S. 90 over the Yellow River from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 as crews perform a routine bridge inspection.

Walton County

• U.S. 98 Widening from Emerald Bay Drive to Tang-O-Mar Drive– Motorists can expect alternating east and westbound lane closures from the Okaloosa/Walton County line to Tang-O-Mar Drive from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18 through Thursday, Feb. 22 as roadway widening and drainage upgrades continue.
  • Crews will continue removing east and westbound, right turn lanes between Emerald Bay Drive and Tang-O-Mar Drive. This work will allow for construction of new outside lanes and curb. Drivers are reminded to use caution as motorists will be making right turns from the outside, right travel lane.

• • The following side streets and driveways between Driftwood and Holiday roads will be reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Monday, Feb. 19 as crews install drainage pipe under the road.  Work is expected to be complete within two weeks.  Affected side streets and driveways include:
    Driftwood Road, Ellis Road, Professional Place, North Beach Centre driveway
    CVS driveway.

• S.R. 20 from East of S.R. 81 in Bruce at C.R. 3280 to west at Black Creek Blvd- There will be alternating east and westbound lane restrictions from just East of S.R. 81 in Bruce at C.R. 3280 to Black Creek Blvd from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March 2 as crews perform ditch reshaping activities.

All activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution and obey the posted speed limit when traveling through the work zone.
