DFSPD Arrest 2 For Nearly A Pound Of Pot

DeFuniak Springs, FL – Two subjects arrested in DeFuniak Springs for possession of nearly a pound of pot.
Officers with the DeFuniak Springs Police Department received a call of a suspicious vehicle Friday morning in the area of U.S. Highway 331 and Coy Burgess Loop. Opon arrival officers made contact with two subjects later identified as Jonathan Wayne Morris of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and David Matthew Rollins of Napoleonville, Louisianna.
When contact was made, officers discovered the occupants had been smoking marijuana. One the occupants admitted to using marijuana and presented a small container of extract or “butter.” A search of the vehicle was conducted and several vacuum sealed bags of marijuana buds weigh 335 grams were located along with over $500 in cash. Additionally, hypodermic needles were discovered along with the drugs.
35 year old Jonathan Wayne Morris of Santa Rosa Beach, admitted that the drugs were his.
A passport belonging to 35 year old David Matthew Rollins of Napoleonville, Louisiana was located inside the backpack with the drugs.
Rollins was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Possession of more than 20 grams of Marijuana. Morris was arrested and charged with Possession of more than 20 grams of Marijuana. Both were transported and booked into the Walton County Jail.
The seized Marijuana has a street value of more than $3,000.
