Crestview, FL – A Crestview area man was taken into custody shortly after four p.m. Monday in connection with a domestic violence related incident at his home on Barnes Road.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Deputies say 72-year old Thomas Davis Sr. of 6253 Barnes Road battered his wife earlier in the day with a wooden leg coffee table that he broke off.
When his wife, son and daughter-in-law attempted to flee the residence, Davis fired a shotgun at them.
His daughter-in-law was struck by a ricocheting pellet in the neck. His 67-year old wife suffered injuries from the beating with the table leg. Both are undergoing treatment at North Okaloosa Medical Center.
Deputies were initially advised Davis had fled into the woods but as later informed by a witness that he might possibly still be in the residence.
Deputies set up a perimeter and began an area search while they kept an eye on the house. After movement was spotted in a window, Law Enforcement began giving Davis verbal commands to exit the residence. After a brief period of time, Davis exited the residence without further incident.
Charges are pending.
