Crestview Motel Fire Sends One Child To Hospital And Displaces Several Families

Crestview, FL – Several Crestview families were displaced and at least one child injured when a local motel caught fire early this morning.

Crestview Fire Department responded to the Hilton Motel located at 353 West James Lee Blvd shortly after midnight on Saturday for a structure fire. The fire, which started in room 129, caused significant damage to the structure of the building and to a vehicle which was located directly in front of the motel room.

According to the fire department, a child that was residing in room 129 with his family did receive burn injuries because of the fire. The child was immediately transported to a local hospital by ambulance. At this time the extent of the child’s injuries is unknown.

Firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading beyond the room of origin and the motel rooms directly attached.

American Red Cross was contacted to assist in the displacement of the families involved.

The fire scene was released to the Florida Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations for them to determine the cause of the fire.
