July 21, 2017

Destin, FL – Two men suspected of targeting local businesses with counterfeit credit and debit cards this week are now in custody after the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office tracked them to a residence in Destin.

29-year old Vincent Turner of Miami and 26-year old Malikus Earls of Fort Walton Beach face multiple counts of credit card fraud, possession of counterfeit cards, and theft.

Deputies say the pair hit up Pirates Cove Liquor Store, Cash’s Liquor on Okaloosa Island and in Destin, as well as Hibbett Sports in Destin. Video Surveillance at one location showed the pair getting into a gray two door Dodge Challenger.

Thursday, the suspects and the vehicle were located at 17 Chatelaine Circle. The car contained merchandise purchased with the credit cards. Additional counterfeit cards were also located.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected. Anyone who believes they may be a victim of the scheme or who has other information is asked to contact the OCSO at 850-651-7400.
