Linden, ALA Woman Victim of Fatal Hit and Run Accident in Pensacola

Pensacola, FL – A Linden, AL woman succumbed to her injuries she sustained after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the road.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, 45 year old Charles Otto Bodie of Pensacola, FL was traveling southbound on Pensacola Blvd in a 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck. 52 year old Tina Baker Cain of Linden, AL was walking across the southbound lanes of Pensacola Blvd from the center median.

As Cain crossed the roadway, she walked into the path of Bodie’s vehicle.

According to the news release, the front of Bodie’s truck struck Cain throwing her approximately 100 feet southwest of the area of the collision. Bodie then fled the scene.

A witness followed the truck to the registered owner’s house and identified the driver as Bodie.

Cain was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital and later died as a result of her injuries.

At this time, Bodie has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death. The report did state Bodie who was not wearing a seatbelt was not injured. Alcohol could be a factor in the accident.
