Niceville HS School Resource Officer Named Top SRO in State

The School Resource Officer serving Niceville High School has just been announced as the Florida Association of School Resource Officer’s SRO of the Year!
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Demeika McClendon received the honor on July 10th at the 38th Annual FASRO Training Conference underway in Orlando Florida.

“We could not be more proud of Deputy McClendon who is one of the most pro-active, energetic and highly skilled SROs you will find anywhere,” said Sheriff Larry Ashley. “The students, administrators, teachers, and parents constantly sing her praises for her commitment to their safety and to helping motivate and shape the lives of the teens at NHS. She’s a graduate of Niceville High who is now using her talents to serve her alma mater in inspirational ways. The entire Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office wants to say congratulations Deputy Demeika McClendon for this outstanding and well-deserved achievement!”
