July 7, 2017
Fort Walton Beach, FL – An Okaloosa County Inmate has been found guilty for ordering a hit on his 17 year old victim.
An Okaloosa County Jury came back with a guilty verdict for Darell James Robinson for Solicitation to Commit First Degree Murder. Robinson will face thirty years in state prison.

In August of 2015, Darell Robinson was incarcerated in the Okaloosa County Jail pending trial on a charge of Unlawful Sex with Certain Minors. In March and April of 2016, Robinson asked his cellmate to kill the victim of his pending case in exchange for being bonded out. After determining that Robinson was serious, the cellmate reported the solicitation to commit murder to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
The cellmate agreed to wear a recording device to capture the conversations. In the recorded conversations, the Defendant is heard describing ways that the murder could occur, i.e. poisoning, overdosing, or shooting, where the victim lives, where the victim spends time, where the victim goes to school, and ways to make a silencer.
At the conclusion of the investigation Robinson was arrested on the charge of Solicitation to Commit First Degree Murder.
Sentencing is scheduled for September 11, 2017 at 1:30 PM before the Honorable William F. Stone.
