DeFuniak Springs Murder Suspect Apprehended

Officers with the DeFuniak Springs Police Department responded to 57 N. 10th Street just after 6 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 in reference to a caller reporting a possible murder.

Officers checked the residence and found a female deceased inside the home.

During the course of the investigation, detectives determined that 36 year old Stephen Anthony Taylor was responsible for the death and immediately relayed information to surrounding agencies.

At approximately 8 p.m., Taylor was arrested at Burger King in DeFuniak Springs without incident.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office and State Attorney’s Office for the 1st Judicial Circuit are assisting in the on-going investigation.

Taylor was later transported to the Walton County Jail on charges of Burglary and First Degree Murder.
