Crestview Man in Critical Condition After Wrecking Motorcycle

A Crestview man is in critical condition after he wrecked his motorcycle on Airport Rd Monday evening.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, 56 year old James Robert Caine Jr, of Crestview, FL, was traveling west on Airport Rd approaching Buckhorn Dr on a 2003 Custom Motorcycle.

As Caine was traveling around a curve he was unable to maintain a single lane because of his speed and left the roadway. Caine traveled on the grassy north shoulder of Airport Rd and began flipping. Caine continued in a northwest direction, crossing both lanes of travel of Buckhorn Dr, before coming to a final rest in the ditch with the motorcycle on top of him.

Caine, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in Critical condition.

Caine was cited for failure to use due care and operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle license.
