Autopsy of Baker Child Point Toward Tragic Accident

An autopsy that was performed by the First Judicial Medical Examiner’s Office in Okaloosa County yesterday in connection with the May 6 th death of a seven year old Baker child point towards Accidental Death.

According to a news release from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, evidence from the autopsy points to her death being the result of a tragic accident.

On Saturday, May 6th, Deputies were called to a home north of Baker around 6 p.m. in response to a 9-1-1 call of a child not breathing.

The girl’s father stated he arrived home and found his seven year old daughter hanging from a swing by her neck.

He immediately took her down and began CPR and was then assisted by responding OCSO deputies and fire department personnel until EMS arrived.

The child was later pronounced dead at North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview.

Her mother says she had only been outside a short time.
