Bicyclist injured in vehicle accident Sunday morning

CRESTVIEW — The Crestview Police Department is investigating an accident involving a bicyclist and a motorist that occurred Sunday morning in front of the Wendy’s restaurant on Ferdon Boulevard South/State Road 85 at approximately 7:11 a.m.

Jalynn Campbell, 20, a worker at a Crestview hotel, was struck by a 2012 Lexus driven by Domonic Henry, 51, of Crestview as she attempted to ride her bicycle across the road.

Campbell had reached the northbound lanes when she was struck. She was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition.

The accident investigation resulted in the closure of the northbound lanes, with traffic rerouted into the inside southbound lane and southbound traffic restricted to the outside lane.

The scene was cleared at 10:05 a.m.

No charges were made in the incident, which remains under investigation.
