Deputy Involved Shooting At Destin Motel

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigated an officer-involved shooting that took place after deputies made contact last night with an armed individual at a Destin motel.

The incident took place around 7 p.m. at the Days Inn, 1029 Highway 98.

The armed subject was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for treatment.

A bystander who was nearby at the time of the confrontation was struck in the leg by a bullet and is undergoing treatment for her injury. No deputies were hurt.
