Holt Man Victim Of Fatal Single Vehicle Accident

A 43 year-old Holt man succumbed to his injuries in a fatal single vehicle accident late Monday night on Gilmore Rd. near Galliver, FL.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, Reginald McLean was traveling East on Gilmore Rd in a 1988 Chevrolet 3/4 ton truck on December 26, 2016 at 10:49 PM. McLean failed to negotiate a curve to the right in heavy fog, left the roadway traveling into a wooded area. McLean’s truck struck two large trees.

McLean, who was not wearing a seal belt, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

McLean’s adult passenger, Shauna Jesperson, also of Holt, was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola in Critical Condition.

A second passenger, a minor, was in the vehicle but only suffered minor injuries because of being restrained in a child Safety Device.

The report further mentioned that alcohol could have played a factor in the accident. Charges are pending.
