Walton County man found guilty of exposing himself to 13 year old
August 17, 2016

Bill Eddins, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit, announced that on August 16, 2016, Jon Paul Hogle was found guilty of one count of Lewd or Lascivious Exhibition in the Presence of a Victim (offender over 18, victim under 16 years of age) following a jury trial in Walton County. Circuit Judge Kelvin Wells scheduled sentencing for September 22, 2016. Hogle could receive up to 15 years in prison and will be designated a Sexual Offender.
Hogle was arrested in August 2015 following a 911 call from the 13 year old victim. The victim reported that she was vacationing with her family and went down to the beach to run. While on the beach the defendant called out to her and she saw the defendant with his shorts pulled down exposing his penis. She described his clothing to law enforcement and pointed the defendant out when he drove by her condominium complex multiple times. A deputy stopped the defendant and told him the allegations and that he matched the description given by the victim. The defendant then put on different clothes in an attempt to hide the fact that what he was wearing was a match to the description given. He also denied exposing himself on the beach that day. However, at trial the defendant testified that he did expose himself on the beach and that he tried to cover up what he was wearing because he did not want to get in trouble. Prior to this incident, the defendant had been previously charged or arrested with similar behavior in other areas of the state.
The investigation was conducted by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant State Attorney Jennifer A. Lieb prosecuted the case.
