A woman planning to leave a man, she termed an abusive boyfriend, said he drove her into woods on the Eglin Range early

Monday morning, taunted her, and then fired his gun so close to her head that her ears were ringing.

The 24-year old victim says 29-year old Joshua Foster of 120 David Street then told her, “it’s like fireworks, only closer”, and shot the gun again. She says she feared for her life and ran into the woods to hide. She was able to flag down another vehicle for help.

Military personnel located Foster on a trail south of Range Road 213 around 4:30 Monday morning. No firearm was found in his truck initially, but the gun was located about 100 yards away a short time later.

Foster told deputies he was firing his weapon as an S.O.S because the female had fled into the woods. He is charged with domestic violence related aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
