Meigs Middle School Student Charged with Issuing Written Threat to Kill Teacher

March 14, 2018

Shalimar, FL – A Meigs Middle School student has been charged with issuing a written threat to kill or do bodily  injury.

A handwritten note outlining the threat was found in a boys’ bathroom at the school around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning and turned over to the School Resource Officer to investigate.

The note specifically mentioned an intention to kill a teacher at Meigs.

The SRO traced the note to an 11 year old student who says he wrote it in late 2017, but it was “more of a joke”.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has a zero tolerance policy in regards to school threats and the student was turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
