Okaloosa County Officer Involved Shooting

Wright, Fla. — According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an apartment complex in the 300 block of Racetrack Rd in reference to a disturbance Friday afternoon.

Upon the deputy’s arrival at the apartment involved, he announced himself. According to the mobile app post by the sheriff’s office, a subject, who was not identified in the post, opened the door armed with a firearm and the deputy engaged.

The deputy was unharmed in the deadly encounter and the subject was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The shooting incident occurred at approximately 4:35pm Friday afternoon at the Chez Elan apartments on Racetrack Road in Wright, Florida.
