Crestview man falls to his death during storm clean-up Friday afternoon.

One person has died in Okaloosa County as a result of the storm system that passed through Friday morning.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, a Crestview man passed away Friday afternoon while he was cleaning-up after the storm.

Initial information suggests the accident happened when a Crestview man in his 60’s fell off a 10’ yellow fiberglass step ladder while attempting to cut the limb off a large tree that was damaged during the storm earlier that morning. The man died as a result of his injuries from the fall.

The fatal accident occurred in the 4700 block of Live Oak Church Rd Friday afternoon at approximately 12:45 pm.

The exact cause of death will be determined at a later date.

As of Sunday evening, this is the only storm related death reported in Okaloosa County.
