SRO Lt. Gary Venuti – Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Gary Venuti with the School Resource Officer (SRO) program discusses how the Sandy Hook school shooting showed the need for a resource officer in our schools and how the shooting last year at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida brought on change in the Florida legislature concerning school safety. We will also be discussing traffic changes in pick up and drop off of students, single point access as well the duties of a SRO.
