14 Year old Charged with Taking Mom’s Car and Carrying a Concealed Weapon

March 22, 2108

Fort Walton Beach, FL – A traffic stop shortly before midnight last night led to multiple charges against the 14-year old driver.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted a car with no tag lights around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday on Navy Street.

The driver turned out to be 14-year old Eian Wilson of Fort Walton Beach, who not only has never had a driver’s license, but had a concealed handgun tucked between the front passenger’s seat and center console, readily accessible.

In addition, the deputy discovered Wilson had taken both the car and the gun from his mother without her permission.

When asked why he took the firearm, Wilson replied he felt as if something bad was going to happen.

Wilson’s mother did not want to pursue charges for the stolen firearm.

The OCSO has charged Wilson with grand theft of a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed firearm, and no driver’s license – never issued.
