Crestview, FL — A fatal accident that involved three vehicles Wednesday afternoon has claimed the life of a 38 year old Laurel Hill man.
According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), 38 year old Michael Gambert of Laurel Hill, FL was traveling north bound on North Ferdon Blvd, Hwy 85 N, in a white 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck. For unknown reasons, Gambert traveled in a northwesterly direction crossing the center median and into the south bound lanes of traffic.
As Gambert traveled across the south bound lanes in a northwesterly direction, the left rear quarter panel of his truck struck the left rear quarter panel of a 2011 Audi A4 driven by 64 year old Randall Teal of Crestview.
According to the news release, Gambert’s Dodge truck continued in the northwesterly direction increasing in speed striking a curb on the west shoulder of the roadway, a sign and came to final rest after striking a large tree head on.
After being struck by the Dodge Truck, Teal’s car traveled off the roadway, striking the curb and a guy wire to a power pole where it came to final rest facing southwest against the guy wire.
A third vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied at a private residence was damaged by the flying debris from the sign that was hit by the Dodge truck.
Michael Gambert, who was entrapped within his vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a contributing factor with Gambert, according to the press release. No other injuries were reported.
