For those wondering about the presence of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, FDLE, early this morning in Baker, FL just north of 19th Street, here is the latest information we were able to obtain.
According to their Public Information Office (PIO), FDLE was in the area conducting a search for evidence in an active long-term crime investigation.
The Public Information Office further advised this was a planned search and there was no danger to the public.
Passersby did observe two FDLE Crime Scene vehicles as well as several unmarked law enforcement vehicles on the east shoulder of the roadway. Agents were visible from the roadway with shovels and metal detectors during the search.
Although the PIO for FDLE advised they were unable to provide any further detail at this time, they did state they may possibly release information in the future but not anytime soon.
