Two Subjects Arrested in Crestview’s Sunday Morning Shooting

Crestview – FL — The Crestview Police Department has made two arrests in connection with a shooting incident that occurred at around 10:15 a.m., Sunday, October 13, 2019 on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The Crestview Police Department has arrested and charged 41 year old, Thomas Junior Adams, of Haines City, Florida, and 39 year old, Jarvis Antwan Smart, of Union Springs, Alabama.

Both were seen on video shortly after the shooting and soon after it was posted on the Police Department’s Facebook page, it was shared numerous times before an alert citizen observed the pair near a local business more than a mile away from the incident. They were promptly detained by the Crestview Police Department.

The Crestview Police Department arrested Thomas J. Adams in connection with the shooting and charged him with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Home Invasion Robbery. Mr. Adams also had active warrants out of Andalusia, Alabama for Burglary. The second individual, Jarvis A Smart was charged with Armed Robbery and Obstruction by Providing a False Name to Law Enforcement.

Both were delivered into the custody of the Okaloosa County Jail without incident.

While two people have been arrested in connection with this case, the investigation is considered active and additional arrests and/or charges may be forthcoming in the case.
